Obituary for Robert O. Roraff

Robert O. Roraff Robert O. Roraff, 81, of West Salem, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at his home. He was born June 22, 1933, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Anna H. (Antone) Roraff. On June 2, 1956, Bob faithfully married Myrtle E. Jasperson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Bob retired after 32 years of dedicated service with the Wisconsin State Patrol. He was a longtime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in West Salem, where he served as vice-president, president of the church council and was also an usher. Bob loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; one son, Robert (Mary); two daughters, Lynne (Jeff) Miller and Debra Soller (Todd Plunkett); two grandsons, David and Brent; two granddaughters, Jessica (Kurt Heyroth) and Krystle (friend, Matt Pierce); six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gus (Roberta) and Ralph (Barbara); one sister, Helen (Bob) Ziegler; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-dad, grandparents, one uncle, and two aunts. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 359 N. Leonard St., West Salem. Rev. Jonathan Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Neshonoc Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, (Jostad Chapel), 121 N. Youlon St., West Salem, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. The family would like to give special thanks to the Gundersen Health System Hospice Program for the wonderful and loving care given to Bob and his family.
