Lorraine was born December 28, 1921, in Elmhurst, Ill., to John and Edith (Laass) Olson.  Despite having a severe cardiac disease since the age of 12, it never stopped her from living her life to the fullest.  Lorraine volunteered for many years at Gundersen Lutheran Clinic in La Crosse and Onalaska.  She was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in West Salem and also belonged to the Sons of Norway.  Lorraine loved to travel throughout the United States in her RV.  She was a wizard at crossword puzzles and word games.  Lorraine's favorite times of the year were Christmas and Easter with family.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Donald (Kaye) Jensen of Des Moines, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Leja Jensen of Abrams, Wis.; three grandchildren, Dana and Douglas Jensen, both of Denver, Colo., and Devin (Heather) Jensen of Richmond, Va.; one great-granddaughter, Avery Jensen; a special niece, Linda Patti Turner as well as other nieces.  She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Erica Jensen; her son, Wayne Jensen; her first husband, Paul Jensen; her second husband, Warren Westin; and her brother, Charles (Anita) Olson.
In accordance with Lorraine's wishes, her body will be cremated.  A brief remembrance service will be held immediately following the second church service on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 359 N. Leonard St., West Salem.  Rev. J. David Bersagel will officiate.  There will be no visitation.
A private family burial will be held at a later date in Illinois.  Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, (Jostad Chapel), West Salem, is assisting the family with the arrangements.  Online condolences may be sent at
