Obituary for Paul Jostad


Paul R. Jostad, 79, of Holmen died April 24, 2018, peacefully in his home. He was born on March 12, 1939 in the Township of Hamilton to Ray and Ester (Marking) Jostad. Paul thankfully graduated from West Salem High, class of 1957. He was a lifetime dairy farmer, his “girls” were his pride and joy. Paul was well known for his renown A-C roto-baler. He enjoyed 42 years on married almost bliss with Diane. They had four children who brought light to the old farm house and his life. Paul is survied by his wife, Diane; children, David (Sara) Jostad, Thomas (Elizabeth) Jostad, and Rachael (Doug) Hauser; grandchildren, Donovan, Delaney, Avery, Maren, Nora, and Rebecca; sisters, Allegra Silberstein and Elizabeth MacEwen; sister-in-law, Jeannine Jostad and numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rebecca; brother, Ray; and B.F.F., brother-in-law, Gary Johnson. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church, rural, Holmen. Sister Becky Swanson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Monday, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Jostad Chapel, West Salem, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Tuesday, at the church.
