Obituary for Marian L. Nelson

Marian Lillis Nelson of La Crosse, passed away, Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at the age of 91, at Mulder Health Care Facility in West Salem. She was born December 15, 1926, the adopted daughter of Irving and Anna (Eshelman) Peck. On July 9, 1944, she married Clinton O. Nelson. She was a life long member of Wesley United Methodist Church in La Crosse, where she served on many committees, was a member of the choir, and was a soloist. Marian was a professional seamstress and also enjoyed doing crafts. She was a member of Jobs Daughters and a 50 year member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs in Wisconsin. Survivors include her son, Clayton (Pam) of Onalaska; daughter-in-law, Jackie Nelson of Waupun, Wis.; grandchildren, Carrie (Chuck) Dillon, Brian, and Craig Nelson; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; wonderful friends and neighbors who lovingly cared for her; and a special friend, Molly. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clinton; a son, Fred; her devoted sister, Edith Hosch; and a grandson, Chad. She treasured her family and enjoyed times spent together. Marian will be sadly missed. A time of remembrance will be held from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Entombment will be held at a later date in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery in La Crosse. In lieu of flowers, memorials are pefered. Online condolences may be sent at
