Obituary for Nancy Dolato

Nancy A. Dolato, 66, of Edgerton, formerly of La Crosse, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. She was born in Sparta Aug. 9, 1951, the daughter of James and Eleanor (Ross) Chambers and was a 1969 graduate of Sparta High School. Nancy was employed as a Pharmacy Tech at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital for 25 years before retiring in January 2012. She married the love of her life, Timothy Dolato Feb. 1, 2002, and he preceded her in death in July, 2015. Nancy will lovingly be remembered as a doting grandma who loved every minute spent with her family. She always had a smile on her face and quite possibly was the nicest person in the world. Nancy never left the house without her lipstick, she had an insatiable love for her plants, flowers, coffee and anything sweet. She is survived by her two children, Kim (John Twining) Janes of Edgerton, and Dave (Jamie) Schaller of La Crosse; three grandchildren, Katelyn Janes, Madelyn Schaller and Max Schaller; three siblings, Diane (Ken Conze) Martinez of Beloit, Wis., James (Luz) Chambers of Harker Heights, Texas, and Sharon Garrity of Viola; sister-in-law, Pat Seidel of New Berlin; and special friend, Virginia Bloom of Sparta; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Tim. A celebration of Nancy’s life will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at the Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd. Private family burial will be in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the hour of service at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Agrace Hospice Care; as well as to her caregivers, Shelby Nelson and Valentina Dose; for the loving care and support given to Nancy and her family.
