Obituary for Ronald George Syverson


Ronald “Ronnie” G. Syverson of French Island died on Sunday, November 19, 2017, surrounded by his loving, family at home. He was born on March 24, 1948, to Geneva Syverson in La Crosse. On April 19, 1975, Ronnie married Sharon Wood and they had three children. He was employed by the Laborer’s Local 140 for many years, and he delivered the La Crosse Tribune on French Island for many years after that. Ronnie was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he took pride in his tomato garden. He also liked to go shopping for deals. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, of 42 years, Sharon; his children, John (Christina), Ronald (Tara), and Samantha (John) Van Dyck; one grandchild, Ileya; siblings, Jeanne (Dale) Marcou, Tammy (David) Wilson, Shirley (Tim) Proctor, Mary Goodenough-Jaeger, Katy (Paul) Mahlum, Carleen Marker, Vickie Goodenough, Burt (Theresa) Goodenough, Susie Goodenough, Mike (Romy) Goodenough; and several nieces and nephews. Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Craig Goodenough and his mother, Geneva Goodenough. There will be a celebration of life held for Ronald G. Syverson from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., Saturday, November, 25, 2017, at the community center on French Island, 617 Plainview Road, La Crosse, Wis., 54603.
