Frances I. "Franny" Antony
Frances I. "Franny" Antony, 91, of Bangor, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta, where she has been a resident for the last five years.
She was born September 30, 1919, at home in the Town of Leon, Wis., to Edwin and Christina (Winterfield) Vogel.  Franny was a graduate of West Salem High School.  On February 8, 1939, she married Lawrence Antony in Cashton and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2000.  Franny and her husband farmed in Sand Creek and Dutch Creek until 1961 when they moved to Bangor.  She then helped her husband operate the Mobil Oil Distributorship and Gas Station in Bangor that he purchased.  Franny was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bangor.  She was an avid Wisconsin sports fan who always cheered on the Badgers and the Packers.  Franny was a tremendous cook and was known for making the best chocolate chip cookies.  She loved spending time with her family and always looked forward to the times when they would visit her.
Survivors include four children, William (Jo Ann) Antony of La Crosse, Douglas (Patricia) Antony of Monticello, Minn., Larry Antony of Copper Harbor, Mich., and Patricia (David) Meyer of Rockland; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Jarrett) Ellzey, Matthew (Jenise) Antony, Todd Antony, Brendan (Emily) Antony, Ryan (Angela) Antony, Stacy (Brent) Foerster, Scott Meyer (special friend, Dana), Sean Meyer (special friend, Stacey), and Jamie (Ryan) Lockington; 11 great-grandchildren, Casie, Tyler, and Sydney Antony, Andrew and Ashlie Lockington, Landon and Cole Foerster, Brady and Logan Antony, and Evan and Adam Meyer; one sister, Wyliss Storandt of La Crosse; one sister-in-law, Calverna Vogel of Galesville, Wis.; one brother-in-law, Wilfred Antony of La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her great-granddaughter, Evelin Meyer; two sisters, Audrey (Herbert) Lee and Ethel (Cleo) Fish; one brother, Lyle Vogel; five sisters-in-law, Shirley Antony, Alvera Jensen Meir, Hazel Stalsberg, Alyce Meir, and Doris Adams; four brothers-in-law; and other relatives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 303 So. 16th Ave., Bangor.  Father Bob Hegenbarth and Father Ed Shuttleworth will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Friends may call at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Hwy 162 and Hattan St., Bangor, on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta, or to a charity of the donor's choice.  Online condolences may be sent at
