Obituary for Deems D. Pelishek
Deems D. Pelishek Deems D. Pelishek, 78, of West Salem and formerly of Adell, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at his home. He was born January 13, 1938, in West Bend, Wis., the son of Florence (Ernst) and Francis L. Pelishek. Deems graduated from Plymouth High School, Plymouth, Wis., in 1956. On Oct. 20,1962, he married Sandra M. Krueger in Fond du Lac, Wis. The couple resided in Adell until 2005 when they moved to West Salem. Deems served in the Army National Guard from 1959 until 1965. He owned and operated Adell Motor Sales in Adell from 1963 until 1972, as well as Cedar Grove Motors. Deems was a salesman and sales manager for Meyer Motors in Plymouth, retiring after 29 years, in 2001. He was a village trustee in Adell from 1985-1989 and served as Village of Adell President from 1989-1999. Deems was an active member of the Adell Fire Department for 38 years from 1965 until 2003. He had been a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell for 67 years and was currently a member at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in West Salem. Deems was a lifelong avid racecar fan; NASCAR, Indy Car, and short track. He was also an “old car” collector, owning many muscle cars. Deems attended the Iola Car Show for 35 years consecutively. He was a member of the G.M. Classic Car Club of Holmen. He was also a loyal Green Bay Packers Fan, holding season tickets for 10 years. Deems attended the New Orleans Super Bowl. Golf was also one of his hobbies and he especially enjoyed his golf partners. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sandra of West Salem; three daughters, Lisa A. (Chris) Gantner of Sinking Spring, Pa., Gina L. (Tom) Armstrong of Sheboygan, Wis., And Tricia, L. (Lance) Aleckson of West Salem; five grandchildren, Kate Gantner of Sinking Spring, Pa., Alyssa and Andrew Van Lanen of Two Rivers, Wis., and Olivia and David Aleckson of West Salem; sister-in-law, Dolly Keating of Sheboygan; brother-in-law, Gerald Kreuger of Eden, Wis.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers-in-law; and five sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be at 6 p.m, Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church 359 N. Leonard St., West Salem. Pastor Jonathan Schmidt will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
