I would like to express my sympathy to the Ranzenberger family. I had the pleasure of working with Darold for forty-five years in the cattle industry. I always found him to be a very honorable gentleman. I will always think of him when I drive past the restaurant in Caledonia.
From John M. Thornton Sr.

I would like to send my condolences to Terry and Nancy and their family. Buck was definitely unforgettable.

Dear Audrey and cousins, My heart is broken over the loss of Buck and I truly share your loss and grief. Buck was one of a kind, unique in so many ways, a tender person when you knew him and was so proud of his family. One of his great passions was to tease people he met and knew in such a way you weren't sure he liked you that day. He had fun with life and was a caring and genuine individual. He was known in a wide arena and when he entered a room many would look up and say " hey Buck, glad to see ya". The Redwood Cafe, he frequented everyday will never be the same again, however his spirit and friendliness will be felt there forever. I am glad I knew him and he was an important part of my life.I am a much improved person because of him. He left a huge hole here on earth that is filling a joyous spot in heaven. Love to all his family as we share the loss of a great person. Jim Cook

Dear Audrey and Family: My family and I were very sorry to here of Buck's death. I was very happy that Dawn sent me the e-mail. I will never forget the football coaches at Caledonia Public High when I first started football as a freshman and they called me "Little Buck". I was very honor to carry on "Bucks" name. I am was able to come back to Caledonia, I would always stop at Redwood Café and there I would see "Buck" either having dinner and bring my Dad in also. I will never forget the ride that Lenny and "Buck" had that orngane Cushman scooter and we all three could ride on it. I had many good time visits with you Audrey and "Buck". Sorry I couldn't make it to the funeral. My PPS is much more severe now especially my left leg. We do give our deepest sympathy to you Audrey and the whole family. My you have peace with "Buck" passing and be a comfort to all the relatives. Wayne and family.
