To live in the hearts and minds of those we leave behind

Let us help get you started

Condolences for

To know Sandra was to know someone who cared about her family, her work and her colleagues. I had known Sandra since she was a Mass Communications student at UW- La Crosse and later, I had the opporunity to hire her as a news producer at WLSU-FM. WLSU-FM was a local public radio station and our news coverage reflected that focus. Sandra believed that facts matter in news coverage, and she was a dogged and accurate reporter who always did her best to get the whole story. Sandra was genuinely interested in telling the stories of the Coulee Region to our listeners, and she retained that focus when we made the transition to becoming a member of Wisconsin Public Radio in 1996. By that time, Sandra was the News Director at WLSU and the move to WPR meant that her reporting was now available to a statewide audience and like she did in many other parts of her life, she rose to the challenge. I could go on and talk about Sandra’s work ethic, the many students she mentored in the newsroom, her interest in music (Cheap Trick!), her love of gardening, of Clary and her family, but I’ll just stop here by remembering her as a colleague and friend – she is missed.

My sincerest condolences to you, Clarence, Mark and Jon, and all of Sandra's family on your loss. I worked with Sandra from 99-02 at WPR, and enjoyed working with her so much. I'll always remember the first time I met Sandra, at the LaCrosse bureau. I was brand new at WPR, getting to know everyone and this new state. From that first day through the day I left, she was always so helpful, friendly, professional and kind. Sandra knew LaCrosse like the back of her hand and she saved me more than once from tripping over a news story. It was great to talk serious news and to joke about life with Sandra. She was a great listener and had a wonderful view of life. She will be greatly missed.

Sandra was a class act and I enjoyed working with her over the years. She was always professional, always prepared to interview, but also pleasant and friendly. I have many good memories of a very nice person who died way too young. My thoughts and prayers are with you in sympathy.

We loved Sandra and her life enriched ours. She always made us welcome and we loved her spirit and joy. We remember all the love and vitality Sandra gave us. She made us feel welcome and we loved being her cousins. We talked about all the wonderful times as we grew. The stories and the memories make our lives full. Our lives are richer and sweeter for having been near Sandra. Though we are sad for our loss, we are all happy and lucky she was a part of our world.
