Condolences for

Allie, I took care of a little problem you had a great many years ago. As a thank you, your husband gave me a coat hanger plaque with a carved fish on it. I want you to know that beautiful piece of woodwork hangs in a prominent place next to the front door of my family's cabin in northeast Minnesota, and has for the entire time since he gave it to me. I have told the story of that handiwork many, many times, and every time that I pass it I think of you and Whitey. I have put his obituary and an explanation on the back of the piece so that my family will know the story for generations to come. Thanks to Whitey, God rest his soul, for his thoughtfulness. I wish you and your family peace.

I remember him from when I worked Menards. He was always cheerful and kind. When I left he gave me a beautiful magazine rack he made. I am very sorry for your loss. He was a very special man.

I met Derrick when he was a greeter at WalMart and it was funny when people who didn't know he would hear me call him "Whitey". I even had 1 customer call me a raciest for calling him by his Nick Name. A kind man that had a soul as big as the heavens that he has traveled to. Sorry to see you go Whitey, we need more wonderful people like you!!

I had the pleasure of meeting him 20 years ago. He was always happy and friendly. Much love to the family.

Loved and respected this man. Every time I met Derrick, I was greeted with a big smile and a welcoming handshake. The twinkle in his eyes told all that knew him he was a good person, enjoyed life, loved his family, enjoyed being around people, and most of all, enjoyed life. My deepest sympathy goes out to this mans family, whity was 1 of the first guys i met when we first moved here 30 years ago! The love that man had for his friends and family will be missed dearly! My father spoke very highly of him and he always had a kind word to say to everyone! He is an angel now and i am thankful i was touched by this man.
