Condolences for

My sincere sympathy on the passing of Shorty. The love and kindness that your family gave on the death of my mother Mary Link will always stand out in my mind. Love to all wish I could return the favour now.
From Kathy (Link) Gill

Sure are going to miss you Mr. Betz. I enjoyed all the years that I would run into you at the fair and random places. Thank you for the memories at the county fair when I was in 4-H. Always on auction day you would make sure that you asked me if that pig was shined up and I would always ask if you had your check book ready to buy that shiny pig. You will be missed dearly by our whole family. Memories of you rolling into mom and dads yard with those baby calves when I was my girls age and your laugh when I was begging mom and dad to buy them. Hugs to your family. Jeff, Karen, Emma, Isabelle and Evelyn Gerdes

Our sympathy to Jean and your entire family. Shorty will be greatly missed by so many people. We could always plan on seeing Shorty and Jean whenever we were at Buck and Audrey's for any special occasion. We always enjoy the times spent with you both.

Our family met Shorty many years ago when he worked at the Farmers Livestock Market on Highway 44. Our Dad John Jr. visited in Caledonia yearly and enjoyed visiting with Shorty and Buck Ranzenberger, especially at the Redwood, Cafe. Our family still visits in Caledonia yearly and one of the highlights was seeing Buck and Shorty at the Redwood for breakfast. Shorty always greeted us warmly and with a smile while we visited in Caledonia. It was very nice to visit with their breakfast group at the Redwood. We always felt special because of Buck and Shorty. Both are deeply missed. Caledonia will always be a special place because of these two.
